Actress Tonto Dikeh gives up Rivers State Deputy Governorship ambition to opposition

Popular Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has given up her Deputy Governorship ambition in Rivers State ahead of the Governorship election set to take place on Saturday, March 18.

Tonto Dikeh who was contesting on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its Deputy Governorship Candidate in Rivers State has withdrawn from the race.

ADC Governorship candidate, Tonte Ibraye and his running mate , Tonto Dikeh pulled out of the race to form a formidable alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to produce the next governor of the state, according to the party.

The decision of the party was disclosed by its Governorship Candidate, Tonte Ibraye at a media briefing which was also attended by the APC Candidate, Tonye Cole in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

He said Tonye Cole was chosen as the “unifier of the opposite parties” following his track records as a successful businessman and detribalised politician.
