Play Network has launched Nollywood’s first game application, “Aki & Pawpaw Epic Run” which is modelled after the popular 2002 comedy film, titled “Aki Na Ukwa.”
By virtue of the launch, the Nollywood veterans, Aki and Pawpaw have veered into a new vista by becoming the first Nollywood characters to have their own video game.
The launch of the app was announced on Friday by filmmaker, Charles Okpaleke, who unveiled the game adaptation of Temple Run titled ‘Epic Run’ featuring movie stars Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, (Aki & Pawpaw) as lead characters.
Charles Okpaleke took to his official Twitter page to announce the release of the new game application, saying “Say hello to the first Nollywood game app.”

The filmmaker first announced the game in 2021 writing, “We are happy to announce that in line with our exclusive exploitation rights to the brand ‘Aki & PawPaw’, we are at the final stages of the first ever Nollywood Game, Aki & Paw Paw Epic Run, powered by @playnetworkafr and @playnetworkstudios..”
