Bob-Manuel Udokwu laments, says amateurs have taken over Nollywood

Popular Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has taken to social media to lament the fact that amateurs have taken over the local Nigerian movie industry dubbed Nollywood.

The veteran thespian who lamented the development during an Instagram Live session with journalist Azuh Arinze said that real professionals should step forward to take back Nollywood.

According to Bob-Manuel Udowkwu, the true potential of the industry is not being realised because a lot of unprofessional activities are going on in Nollywood.

“Nollywood ought to be greater than what it is at the moment. Unfortunately, the true potential of the industry is not being realised. A lot of unprofessional activities are going on.

Many half-baked practitioners have invaded the industry. The real professionals should step forward and take back Nollywood.”

Bob Manuel added during the Instagram Live session that in order to succeed in Nollywood for a long time, one needed to embrace perseverance and hard work.

“Hard work, consistency and being true to oneself are important if one wants to last long in Nollywood. One does not need to do things because others are doing it. One just has to be true to oneself.” He said.
