Cross River governor promises to compensate Mayorkun after he was robbed in Calabar


The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has promised to compensate Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel popularly known in music circles as Mayorkun who recently explained why he has decided never to perform in the city of Calabar again.

Recall that the musician in a series of posts on his official X handle (formerly Twitter) revealed that his items were stolen by unknown assailants in the capital of Cross Rivers State.

Mayorkun, who was invited to perform at a music concert in Calabar, shared a picture of his performance at the concert with a caption which revealed that he will never come back to the city again.

However, the musician has now disclosed that Governor Otu has assured him during a meeting that he’ll be compensated following the robbery incident in the city of Calabar.

While sharing a photo from the meeting Mayorkun wrote, “Just met with the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Prince Bassey Otu.

“He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable and he has also stressed that I’ll be compensated for my valuables lost. Thank you sir ������.

“Still searching for my pendant! ��� It’s so special to me for many reasons. I have a N5m reward for anyone who finds and returns it. Please help spread the word! ������”
