The woman who was said to have rejected advances from popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy leading to the random gun shots that hit her partner and his friend at club Cubana has taken to Instagram stories to narrate what happened.
According to the woman simply identified as Briella, she, her partner, her best friend and husband came to Nigeria from America and London for a childhood friend’s wedding and decided to visit Cubana Lagos night club to celebrate the newlyweds on June 8, 2022.
She said they were having fun in the VIP area of the club when a man approached her to talk to her on behalf of Burna Boy but she told the man to inform Burna that she is married and not interested in the singer.
The man returned a second time and she gave him the same answer. However, when he came the third time, insisting Burna wants to meet her, the group with Briella flared up at Burna’s friend asking why he kept disturbing her leading to verbal attacks.
“This degenerated into a physical fight and Cubana security stepped in to stop the fight.
“As Burna’s friends were returning to their seat, another fight broke out and security intervened again.
“However, Burna’s friends started shooting…this led to chaos and I couldn’t find my partner and best friend.
“One of Burna’s friends lifted me and threw me so hard on the floor hurting my left shoulder.

She said one of her friends tried to get Burna to talk to his boys but he just laughed and made his way to his car while being protected.
“Burna Boy’s friends were shooting at people while attempting to leave the club. They were out to kill and didn’t care who got hit.” She added.
She also said that when she finally got to a place she thought was safe, the man who intially approached her on behalf of Burna saw her and told her, “you’re the one that was doing shakara, abi?”
She said he then reached into his pants to get something resembling a gun but her friends came to her rescue.
She said she later found out her partner had been grazed in the head with a bullet and his friend was shot in the thigh.
She added that Cubana club only reached out to them four days later promising to get justice for them and lamented that no public statement has been made neither have there been CCTV footage to aid investigation but business has continued as usual in the club.
She also lamented that she has been traumatised ever since especially after seeing Burna Boy’s unremorseful response to the incident.
