Actress Eva Green wins $1m legal battle with producers, financiers

Former James Bond girl Eva Green has won a $1 million legal battle against a group of movie producers and financiers over payment for an abandoned film production.

A High Court in London ruled in favour of 42-year-old thespian Eva Green who sought the sum of $1 million for a failed film titled ‘A Patriot’ that never got made.

The actress who is best known for appearing in James Bond movie Casino Royale, sued White Lantern Film for the million-dollar fee she was due to be paid to her by the makers.

In her lawsuit, Eva Green claimed that she was entitled to her million-dollar (£810,000) fee for the £4.6million film, despite its cancellation, under the terms of their agreement.

She declared after the ruling that her “professional reputation has been upheld” after she won her High Court case over payment for the abandoned film.

Green also noted after her court win that the company had used her “as a scapegoat to cover up their own mistakes” and “made false allegations”.

“I am proud that I stood up against their bully-boy tactics,” she added.
