Alec Baldwin finally hands over cell phone to police in film shooting investigation

Troubled American actor Alec Baldwin has finally handed over his cellphone to investigators in the ongoing ‘Rust’ film shooting probe which claimed the life of filmmaker of Halyna Hutchins.

The development was made known on Friday by Alec Baldwin’s attorney and a law enforcement official Aaron Dyer, who confirmed that the actor had provided his phone to authorities.

“But this matter isn’t about his phone, and there are no answers on his phone. Alec did nothing wrong,” Dyer said in a statement.

“The real question that needs to be answered is how live rounds got on the set in the first place,” he added.

The move was also confirmed by sheriff’s department spokesperson Juan Rios said via email that Baldwin’s phone had been turned over to authorities in Suffolk County, New York.

Recall that a search warrant for Baldwin’s iPhone was issued in December, 2021 but the actor refused to turn it over until on Friday, January 14, 2022.
