Ara appointed as first female PMAN governor of Lagos State

Africa’s first female talking drummer Aralola Olamuyiwa aka Ara has been appointed by the Performing Musician s Association of Nigeria, PMAN, as the first female governor of Lagos State.

Her appointment was made known in a statement issued by PMAN President, Pretty Okafor mandate to pilot the affairs of PMAN Lagos state chapter until n election is staged to usher in a new exco.

Part of the statement signed by Okafor reads: “you are by this letter appointed as the PMAN Governor of Lagos State chapter in line with the PMAN constitution/court mandate to pilot the affairs of PMAN Lagos state chapter until such a time that the chapter is stabilised enough for elections that will usher in elected exco.

The PMAN President stated further that the appointment became imperative owing to the fact that she has contributed immensely to the growth of the entertainment industry in Nigeria and beyond especially in Lagos State.

Moment after accepting her new appointment, Ara said: “I am humbled by the level of trust and faith reposed in me to pilot PMAN Lagos as Governor and I’m ready to use my experience gathered over the years to help harness the potentials of artistes in Lagos which is my primary constituency.”
