One of the housemates of the 2023 Big Brother Naija (BBN) reality TV show, ‘All Stars’ edition, Seyi Awolowo, has explained why gospel musicians shouldn’t be scared to demand performance fees.

Seyi who shared his thoughts on the matter, said that it is okay for gospel artistes to charge before agreeing to perform at religious events and also urged them to monetise their music.

The reality TV star who made the comments during a recent interview with Hip TV argued that gospel musicians should charge before agreeing to perform because they also have responsibilities to cater for.

He said, “If you have a talent, you gotta make your money. So because of religion, someone shouldn’t get paid? We need to knock that mindset out. We literally need to take out that sentiment.

“Let’s actually build on ourselves. If you have a talent and can monetise it the right way, do so. You need to sell your talent.”
