American singer Beyoncé Knowles is set to remove an offensive lyric from her new album following social media backlash.

Despite the applause generated over Beyoncé’s new album, ‘Renaissance’, a faction of her fans have called her out for using an ableist term in one of the tracks.

Her team confirmed this via a recent statement to Variety stating that the lyric will be changed.

The 11th track on the album released on Friday featured the lyrics, “Spazzin’ on that a*s, spazz on that as*.” said to be a slang coined from the word “spastic” which refers to a disability that makes it difficult for people to control their muscles especially in the limbs.

‘Renaissance’ is Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album.
