Filming for Brad Pitt’s movie about Formula 1 (F1) has been halted after the popular actor was allowed to shoot scenes for the racy film live at the British Grand Prix.

Reports say all work on the currently unnamed big-screen flick has been suspended after members of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) union – which includes Pitt himself – voted to take strike action for the first time since 1980.

A source told NBC News that “all filming is shut down for now” and added: “Brad had really enjoyed himself, but he is definitely a very loyal member of the union.”

The US actors’ union Sag-Aftra (which was formed in 2012 after a merger between the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) joined writers who have been walking the picket lines for over 70 days to fight for better pay and protection in the face of streaming and the challenges it presents.
