Brandy reaches $40k agreement with former housekeeper who sued her for wrongful termination

American singer Brandy Norwood popularly known in music circles as Brandy has reached a $40,000 agreement with her former housekeeper who sued her for wrongful termination.

An article on published on Wednesday by the Los Angeles Times revealed that the settlement with the housekeeper identified as Maria Elizabeth Castaneda aka Elizabeth Juarez has been agreed.

Court documents cited by the publication revealed that the housekeeper’s lawyers demanded additional attorney fees ranging from $39,194.46 to $87,445.80, depending on the court’s method to determine fees, of the case.

Recall that Elizabeth Juarez had earlier filed a suit under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act seeking damages of over $250,000 claiming that Bandy fired her once she got too old despite working for the singer for 20-years.

Juarez who was hired by the “Vocal Bible” in September 2002 and was paid $125 a day to cook, clean, and do the laundry, is suing her for allegedly not wanting “an older employee.”

She alleged that the wrongful termination and loss of wages caused her to “suffer, and continue to suffer, from humiliation, anxiety, severe emotional distress, worry, fear.”
