The mental health status of American singer Britney Spears has been called into question by the Iranian government after she posted a tweet in support of women’s rights protests in the country.

In a reply to the singer, the Islamic Republic News Agency tweeted: ‘American singer Britney Spears was placed under her father’s conservatorship in 2008 due to her mental health problems’ on their official Twitter account.’
”That gave Britney’s father control over her finances and even her personal life aspects such as pregnancy, remarriage, and visits to her teenage sons,” the tweet concluded.
