The Police Service Commission (PSC) has ordered the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to conclude its ongoing investigation into the allegations levelled against suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari within two weeks.

The order was issued in a statement by the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, on Friday in Abuja, who said that the commission took the decision at its 14th Plenary Meeting chaired by the Chairman, Musiliu Smith.

Ani also said the commission had also ordered that further investigation be carried out on the matter by a different panel within two weeks, after the first report was submitted.

He said that the decision was taken at the continuation of its 14th plenary meeting, which ended in Abuja, on February 11, 2022, chaired by retired Inspector-General of Police and Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Musiliu Smith.

The statement reads thus in part; “The commission also directed that further necessary investigation should take half the time it took the Police to conduct the original investigation and that the investigation should be carried out by a different panel.”

Aba Kyari is being probed by the police after a report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States of America, indicted him in a case of fraud involving Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi.
