Nigerian singer and composer Joseph Akinwale popularly known in music circles as Joeboy has stated that he has difficulty forgiving anyone that hurts him.

The musician made this disclosure during an interview on the Zero Conditions Podcast recently, while discussing his journey to prominence and his artistic beliefs.

When the topic of ‘forgive and forget’ came up, he expressed his difficulty in forgiving people who have hurt him and also added that it is as a result of his attempts to do the right thing by people.

He additionally stated that it bothers him when others hurt him in ways that he would never do to them.

Joeboy said; “It’s hard for me to forgive and forget, I can’t lie. I’m sorry but I’m trying though. I can hold a grudge because one thing I like to do when it comes to relationships with people is to make sure I do everything right. So when someone acts funny with me I take it personally because I’d never do that to you, why are you doing that to me? That’s why I take it personally.”

He went on to point out that he’d rather not have the offender in his space when he’s able to let go.

“I might even forgive, but it would take a while,” he said, “but I’d forgive, It’d be very difficult to give the person access again.”
