The alleged fight between Nollywood actor Jim Iyke who attacked his colleague, Uche Maduagwu, who had purportedly trolled him on social media, saying Iyke’s source of wealth was suspect, was a stunt to promote his (Jim Iyke’s) new video, findings reveal.

In the video that has gone viral, Jim Iyke attacked Uche Maduagwu who threatened to use his Abuja connection to send the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after Jim Iyke.

In the video, Jim Iyke can be heard saying “You think I won’t find you!”

To which Uche Maduagwu responded saying: “How did you know I was here? EFCC is looking for you.”

After more exchanges of words, Jim Iyke flew at him with a kick and wallop that had Uche Maduagwu reeling backward into a door that burst open.

“I will sue you!” Maduagwu started yelling from beyond the door.

However, findings have revealed that the viral video was a stunt to create awareness for Jim Iyke’s new movie centred on cyber bullying titled ‘Bad comments’ which officially premieres in cinemas from today, 27th August 2021.

Through the star-studded movie, the actor says he is creating awareness about the dark world of cyberbullying, something he has experienced himself.

The movie premiered with an elaborate red carpet event last Sunday, with the presence of old and new Nollywood actors. They showed support toward Jim Iyke’s incredible effort and to advocate against cyberbullying.

Gracing the beautifully decorated red carpet were Uche Jumbo, Ini Edo, Jidekene Achifusi, Deyemi Okonlawon, Toyin Abraham, Phyno.

Speaking about the movie, Iyke said: “It’s a conversation that I think is lagging behind in our society and we did extensive research before putting out this movie.

“The social media space isn’t being utilised positively and this is tragic. Social Media is supposed to be a space where people can find their dreams and shortcuts to exhibit what they really are.

“It’s become cool to project cruelty and hatred online and ‘Bad Comments’ speak to this, we hope to show some of the perils of social media, we worked hard on a powerful production which has something for everyone,” he added.
