Popular Hollywood actor Kevin Costner has responded to a bombshell divorce lawsuit filed by his wife Christine Baumgartner Costner which seeks to end their 18-year-old marriage.
Recall that the divorce move was made known in a report published on Wednesday by TMZ which informed that Christine cited the usual “irreconcilable differences” as reason for the split in a suit filed on Monday, May 1.

Kevin Costner’s rep who confirmed the development, said: “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.
‘‘We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”

According to an insider, Kevin Costner is very surprised with the decision made by his wife Christine, is reportedly hoping to get his wife back after she left him ‘stunned’ with the divorce suit.
“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back.

“It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children,” the family friend told Page Six.
They added how they’re unsure “if Kevin Costner even knows what the reasons are.”
