Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty has been sentenced to one year of in-home detention and three years probation for failing to register as a s3x offender when he moved to California with his wife.

Petty, 44 who married Minaj, 39, in 2019, pleaded guilty back in September on a federal count of failing to register as a s3x offender and was likely to get a maximum prison sentence of 10 years with a lifetime of supervised release.

However, he was sentenced Wednesday to just one year of in-home detention, and three years of probation, according to CBS Los Angeles. He will be forced to stay in his multi-million-dollar Calabasas mansion under home detention for the next year and ordered to pay a $55,000 fine.

Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995, for which he was sentenced to four years in prison.

He is considered a level-two offender in the state of New York, which equates to him being considered a ‘moderate risk of repeat offense.’

He was also pulled over by the Beverly Hills Police Department in November 2019, and discovered he was a registered s3x offender in New York, though he had not registered in California when he moved, which he’s required to do.

Petty pleaded guilty at the time but his hearing was delayed several times before the sentence was handed out.

Prosecutors were recommending 15 months of prison time and five years of supervised release, and not a home detention, since he lives with Minaj in a gated community in Calabasas, which they contended was not much of a ‘punishment.’

The judge ultimately disagreed, sentencing Petty to one year of in-home detention, plus three years of probation, and a $55,000 fine.
