Latin singer Ricky Martin has reacted after the dismissal of the incest case filed against him by his 21-year-old nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, who alleged they were in an intimate relationship for 7 months.
The 50 year old singer was slammed with a restraining order by Dennis who also alleged that he’d been subjected to abuse and stalking by the Latin star.
However, Following the dismissal of the case which he earlier denied, Ricky has addressed the allegations in a video where he said he couldn’t defend himself because there was a legal process he had to follow and until the case was presented in court but “today was the day” he would speak out.
In the video obtained by TMZ, Ricky said: “It’s been almost four decades since I’ve been working as an artist, under the public eye, and I’ve never had to deal with something so hurtful like I’ve lived through these last few weeks.
“Unfortunately, the attack came from a family member…I only wish him the best, for him to find the light. A lie can cause so much harm. It harmed me, my husband, my kids, my parents, and my family.”

Ricky added that he was “hurt” as he finished the two-minute video by stating: “I will find peace, the necessary silence to see the light again at the end of the tunnel, like I’ve always been able to.”
The singer’s attorney had previously said in a statement that the allegations were untrue and “disgusting”, and that Ricky had never been “involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”
Yesterday, Ricky’s lawyer said of the case: “This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them.”
Speaking of the nephew, they added: “We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs”, and said he is “struggling with deep mental health challenges”.
