The death of veteran Nollywood actor Victor Olaotan has been announced to the dismay of movie lovers and buffs alike who followed his illustrious career as a thespian of repute.

Victor Olaotan has reportedly passed away, five years after a career-ending car accident, however details of his death are still sketchy, but according to reports, he died yesterday, August 26.

Best known for his role as Fred Ade-Williams in the long-running soap opera Tinsel, the actor was involved in a motor accident in October 2016 and suffered nervous system injury.

He was reportedly driving to a movie set when he had the accident around Apple Junction, in Festac, Lagos.

 1.)  Veteran actor Victor Olaotan was born on the 17 February 1952, Lagos, Nigeria.

2.)  He studied at the University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University and Rockets University, United States.

 3.)  He began his career as an actor when he joined the University of Ibadan theatre group, where he met other artistes, such as Professor Wole Soyinka and Jimi Solanke among others.

4.)  He became an actor at the age of 15 years through a teacher who was a member of the Ori Olokun Theatre group in the early 70’s, prior to the death of his father.

5.)  After his father died, he traveled to the United States of America in 1978 but returned to Nigeria in 2002 to continue his career in acting.

6.)  He became more popular in 2013 after his leading role in a Nigerian Soap opera, Tinsel that began airing in August 2008.
