Muyiwa Awoniyi, the manager of talented Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known in music circles as Tems has recounted how the singer led praise and worship in a prison in Uganda.

The singer’s manager who recalled the incident while appearing as a guest on the most recent episode of Menisms’ audiovisual podcast, which is hosted by Olumurewa and Michael Sonariwo said that Tems had inmates join in on her worship songs in cell.

He said; “Entering prison, as a woman, Tems, they [prison warders] took her to the female section. I was just worried about her. I was not with her. I was just wondering what the hell is going on [with her?].

“I will come to find out that Tems conducted praise and worship in a whole prison cell. Everybody was singing with her. She took over the whole prison.”

Recall that Tems and her compatriot Omah Lay and other team members were both arrested by the police in Uganda in the year 2020 for violating COVID-19 regulations.
