Nigerian musician Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid won two awards at the 2021 MOBO Awards. The superstar bagged the Best International Act and Best African Act awards.
Partnering with YouTube and BBC this year, the award ceremony was live streamed on Sunday the 5th of December 2021. The event was hosted by Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Munya Chawawa at the Coventry Building Society Arena, U.K.
In a historical moment, WizKid beat stars like Kanye West, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Polo G, Rema, Skillibeng, and Young Stoner Life (Young Thug & Gunna) to win the Best International act category.
The Nigerian artiste also beat other artistes like Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tems, Davido, Ckay, NSG, Rema, King Promise and Ayra Starr for the Best African Act award.

The MOBO Awards, with MOBO being an acronym for Music of Black Origin, is an annual British music awards ceremony which honours the achievements of artists in hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel and drill genres.
