The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed the killing of no fewer than five security personnel and the injuring of one victim by armed bandits in the Gora Community in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Shehu Mohammed who said that the security operatives were killed in an ambush by heavily armed bandits.

According to him, the ambush of the security operatives followed the killing of an unspecified number of armed bandits who blocked Bakura–Gusau road on Sunday afternoon.
The police spokesperson said; “Yes, they ambushed our troops killing four policemen, one Civil Defence personnel and another was critically injured but receiving treatment in an undisclosed Hospital”.
