30-year-old man nabbed after fatally stabbing victim for allegedly having an affair with his wife

The long arm of the law has caught up with a 30-year-old man identified as Johnson Samuel, who stabbed a 57-year-old man to death at his residence over suspicion that the victim was having an affair with his wife.

The arrest of the suspect was confirmed on Monday by the spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, who said that Samuel, a resident of Bandasarga village, Ganye Local Government Area, returned home on Sunday, April 4 around 11pm and met the victim, Yaji Lawal, in his house.

According to Nguroje, the suspect summed up that the man was having an affair with his wife and in anger, he picked up a knife and fatally stabbed the deceased to death.

“There and then, he suspected the victim of coming to have an affair with his wife; all of a sudden, he stabbed him with a knife and left him in a pool of his blood,” Nguroje said

The police spokesperson said the victim was rushed to hospital but was later confirmed dead. He said the state Commissioner Police, Aliyu Adamu, has ordered further investigations into the case.
