5 people shot, killed, one injured in mass South Carolina shooting

A tragic scene played out in South Carolina in the USA when yet-to-be identified men killed five people including two children following a mass shooting inside a home in Rock Hill.

The York County coroner’s office said that the police were called to the scene of the incident following reports of a shooting at 4:45 p.m, April 8, and found the bodies of the victims including; a doctor, his wife, and their two grandchildren.

According to a tweet by the York County Sheriff’s Office Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene along with grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5, as a result of gunshot wounds.

A fifth victim, James Lewis, 38, from Gaston, was found dead outside.

In addition to the five people who were killed, another person was transported to the hospital with “serious gunshot wounds,” said Robert, who described the incident as a mass shooting.

“This is a very tragic, tragic situation and the family does ask that you respect their privacy during this time,” Robert said.
