A 52-year-old former lawyer Senyatsi Lucas Phasa has been sentenced to four life sentences by a High Court, Limpopo division in Polokwane on Friday, June 4, after he was found guilty of brutally killing his four children.
The court convicted Phasa for the murder of his four children, Katlego (9), Joyce, (7) Tshepo (5) and Adel (3) after he committed the crime moments atfer he accused his wife of infidelity.
Reports say Phasa who reside in Sekhukhune in February 2020, hacked three of his children to death with an axe and bludgeoned the last-born with a rock after accusing their mother of cheating.
The MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale, who was in court, welcomed the outcome of the case, saying that it will serve as a deterrent to would-be abusers and murderers of children.
The court also heard that Phasha has previous convictions of murder, three counts of attempted murder and reckless driving.
