Adidas slammed with lawsuit for ignoring Kanye West’s anti-Semitism remarks

Sportswear giant Adidas has been slammed with a lawsuit by its investors for routinely ignoring popular American rapper Kanye West’s anti-Semitism and extreme behaviour.

Adidas investors who lost the sum of $180k over its partnership with Kanye West are suing the brand in a class action lawsuit which says bosses failed to drop West even after comments which included his tweet: ‘I’m going death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.’

Former CEO Kasper Rørsted and Chief Financial Officer Harm Ohlmeyer are also named as defendants in the lawsuit which says the company and its executives ‘failed to warn investors’ that it was aware of Kanye West’s extreme behavior and had even ‘considered ending the partnership because of it’.

The lawsuit was filed in Oregon on Friday by lawyers on behalf of HRSA-ILA Funds, which manages investments for the International Longshoremen’s Association.

Recall that Kanye West returned to social media in March this year after a long break to disavow the anti-semitic tropes he spewed on platforms like Drink Champs and Fox News in 2022.
