As he awaits the outcome of his purported rape trial in Spain, former Brazil and Barcelona FC defender Dani Alves is said to be “depressed” while he is in prison.

Following the start of Alves’ sexual assault trial in Barcelona earlier this month, when a woman claimed she was raped by him, the Brians 2 prison is allegedly taking ‘extraordinary steps’ to monitor Alves.

In the event of a conviction for the December 30, 2022, rape of a 23-year-old woman in the restroom of Barcelona’s upscale Sutton nightclub, state prosecutors have stated that they sought a nine-year prison sentence for him.

But according to Fiesta via SPORT, Alves’s old teammate “Coutinho” has opened up about the former defender’s mental decline.

The trial has caused him to experience a dip. He seems kind of downcast and disheartened. Officials and educators are behind him, Coutinho added.
