Veteran Yoruba actress Idowu Phillips has revealed that she begged stand-up comedienne Princess for four days to drop the alleged rape case against Baba Ijesha but she refused.

The thespian popularly known as ‘Iya Rainbow’ who weighed-in on the matter during an interview with BBC Yoruba stated that she reached out to Princess when it was first reported that Baba Ijesha had been arrested.

According to Iya Rainbow, she pleaded with Princess for four days to drop the case against the actor but female humour merchant refused as she insisted on getting justice for her 14-year-old foster daughter.

The actress added that during her visits, she did everything humanly possible to get Princess not to escalate the case but she did not succumb.

However, Iya Rainbo revealed that the leadership of the Theater arts practitioners would now seek a way to resolve the matter following the release of Baba Ijesha on bail.

She said; “Before the matter was settled, I asked the princess for four days not to take the matter to court. I urged her not to let this matter get louder, but she refused. Now, see how the whole thing played out.”

Baba Ijesha was granted bail by a special offenses court in Lagos on June 24, after he was arrested for allegedly defiling the foster daughter of Princess in the month of April 2021.
