Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has been granted bail after he was arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged abuse of the naira.
The socialite was granted bail on Tuesday to the tune of N10 million by Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos after he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him by the EFCC.
He was made to appear before Justice Ogundare on Wednesday, April 17, after the anti-graft commission accused him of abusing the naira at a social event in Lagos.
Cubana Chief Priest was alleged to have sprayed the naira on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel and the court said he committed the offences while dancing during a social event.
The court, presided over by Justice Ogundare ruled that his actions were contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
However, he pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge filed against him by the EFCC and was subsequently granted bail by the presiding judge.
