Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi is indeed a saint and he wants you to know that, as he has claimed that he never collected a dime in pension bfrom the Rivers State Government since he left office as Governor.
Amaechi took to his Twitter handle to say he is not one of the former governors a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered to make refunds of monies collected as pension. The minister also tweeted that if he was offered the money, he would turn it down and request that it be given to pensioners in Rivers State.
The former governor’s tweets may sound really profoundly sweet but the question his critics may ask is, if Dakuku Peterside had succeeded him as governor, will he be ‘pensionless’? We all know that Governor Nyesome is like a bull in China shop and clearly know why our dear minister has been without pension. But anyway, let’s Amaechi the saint has spoken!
