American rapper Jay Z to feature Femi Kuti, Olamide in new album

Popular American rapper Sean Carter popularly known as Jay Z has revealed that he will feature two Nigerian artistes; Femi Kuti and Olamide in his fresh upcoming album titled ‘The Ascension’.

While speaking about the 16-track album during an interview Jay-Z said that he always wanted to get in touch with his roots and connect to the motherland by featuring an African artiste.

He said that Africa is blessed with so much talent he feels felt like it was time to tap into that resource by having guest appearances on the album from the likes of Olamide, Sarkodie, Femi Kuti, Nasty C, Beyoncé, Rick Ross, H.E.R and the duo of Lighthouse family.

The rap mogul said; “I’ve always wanted to get in touch with my roots and connect to the motherland. You know, Africa is blessed with so much talent and I felt like it was time to tap into that resource. The Ascension is not just talking or focusing on Africa but it’s also about me giving back to the people, familiarizing with the culture and connecting more with the motherland.”

Jay Z now follows in the footsteps of his wife Beyonce whose last album “Lion King: The Gift” album featured African stars like Burna boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, and Tekno.
