Bandits kill three; abduct 12 other victims during attack in Niger

An attack Kwankwashe community in Suleja local government area of Niger state by armed men suspected to be bandits has left no fewer than three victims dead and twelve others abducted.

Reports say one of the victims killed by the marauding bandits has been identified as Nicholas Akhere and another was a six-year-old child who was also killed during the attack which occurred on Wednesday night, May 19.

The bandits reportedly broke into different houses in the community and whisked away residents who couldn’t run fast during the raid. Some children were reported to be among the unspecified abductees.

One James Oboh Alex, who confirmed the development on Friday, May 21, said Akhere’s wife was among the 12 persons abducted by the bandits.

“R.I.P BOSS Nicolas Akhere… He was killed by bandits, his wife kidnapped in Kwakwashe Suleja. Wednesday 19th, 2021. He was loved everywhere he goes. At work he works with his boys as if he’s not the Boss. So many memories Boss… Am going to miss you so much,” he wrote.
