Troubled American singer Britney Spears has debunked claims that she is working on a new album.
The musician who recently parted ways with her husband Sam Ashgari also revealed that she is not returning to the music industry.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Britney Spears wrote; “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album I will never return to the music industry !!!”.
However, she noted that she has still been writing new songs, albeit for other artists.
“When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people,” Spears wrote, adding that she’d ghostwritten over 20 songs in the past two years.
Spears has previously said that she doesn’t plan on making a comeback.
Recall that Spears said in her memoir ‘The Woman In Me’ that her conservatorship had been “deadly” for her music career.
“Pushing forward in my music career is not my focus at the moment,” Spears wrote.
“It’s time for me not to be someone who other people want; it’s time to actually find myself,” she added.
