Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovic has reportedly made an offer to purchase top Spanish side, Valencia FC after the sale of his current club has been completed.

The billionaire is making moves to sell Chelsea FC after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine after sanctions were imposed upon him by the UK Government, leaving the club unable to make any financial transactions.

And according to latest reports, the Russian oligarch is hoping to buy another club once the sale has been completed.

Rival bidder Miguel Zorio claims that current Valencia owner Peter Lim has leaked the Russian oligarch’s bid to buy the Spanish football club to the media.

Plaza Deportiva reported a letter from Zorio stating: “Peter Lim has tried to sell the club in London for €250million and has not succeeded. Lately, he has leaked to international media that he has two purchase offers, mine and that of the Russian oligarch of Chelsea. And from here, I tell him that either he puts €50m every year to compensate for the losses he generates or he sells to us. Whether he likes it or not.”

The development comes as American billionaire Ken Griffin has promised to help build “the most competitive team” if the Ricketts family consortium is successful in purchasing Chelsea FC.
