Court orders detention of four suspects over alleged murder of young man

Four suspects identified as Saiki Eneshero, 29, Adeche Okuo, 40, Shafe Ozaveghe, 41 and Otinoi Adanini, 24, have been jailed on the orders of an Edo State High Court.

The presiding judge of the court, Justice Philip ordered the detention of the suspects on Wednesday, March 24 after they were found guilty of murdering of one Dicksom Emah.

According to the the prosecutor, Esq Iweka Ekibade, the four suspects conspired with others at large, armed with a double-barrel gun with live cartridges and other dangerous weapons, attacked and unlawfully killed Emah.

Justice Philip Imoedemhe found the suspects guilty of a two-count charge of felony and murder before ordering their detention in Auchi Correctional Centre for 14 days pending the outcome of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.

However, the pleas of the suspects were, not taken by Justice Philip Imoedemhe who thereafter, adjourned the case till April 7, 2021, for mention.

The young man popularly known as Lacomb was shot dead during a clash between two groups of masquerades after the annual Ekuochi festival in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State on Monday, January 18, 2021.
