Former World Wrestling Federation (WWF) star and Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has emerged as the highest paid celebrity on Instagram for 2020 thus toppling reality TV star and make-up mogul, Kylie Jenner from first place.

The annual list—which has been released for four years running—is ranked by the approximate amount celebrities are able to charge per sponsored post.

The fees are still staggering, but 2020 was the first year to see a decrease in fees for Instagram influencers—The Rock was the only celebrity last year whose sponsored posts were estimated to exceed US$1 million.

Hopper HQ states that the drop might be due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, “as marketers and brands have reduced influencer budgets”.

With over 187 million followers and counting, The Rock tops the list with an eye-watering estimate of US$1,015,000 per post. The amount marks a 15 per cent jump from his position on the Instagram Rich List in 2019.

Jenner follows suit with a hefty US$986,000, with Cristiano Ronaldo as the second runner-up for the third year running, with a fee of US$889,000 per post.
