Forbes names Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Funke Akindele on its list of 100 most influential innovators in Africa

Forbes magazine has listed the trio of Nigerian actresses; Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, and Funke Akindele on its recent list of 100 most influential innovators in Africa.

The Nigerian thespians now join other trailblazing African stars and entertainers including; Trevor Noah, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’O on the list by Forbes which is celebrating “influential role models that have spelt Africa’s growth over the last decade.”

Genevieve Nnaji is recognized on the list for her history making directorial debut ‘Lionheart’ which became the first Netflix Original from Nigeria and the country’s first-ever Oscar Award submission.

In the list released by Forbes on Tuesday, the magazine described Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde as one of the biggest actors to come out of Africa with over 200 films to her credit.

Forbes also highlighted Funke Akindele and her popular comedy ‘Omo Ghetto’ which grossed over N500 million and earned the spot of the highest grossing movie in Nigerian box office early this year.
