Self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ Damini Ogulu better known in music circles as Burna Boy has declared on mircro-blogging site Twitter that he is not a Nigerian artiste even though he is a Nigerian.
The Grammy Award winner made the comment when a Davido fan account with the username,@ABetterTime, said in a Twitter discussion that Burna owe it to other artists for all his achievements.
“He was *just an average star back in Nigeria and Africa at large, more like an artist with prospects, unlike his peers who had to do it on their own from day one.” Davido’s fan said.
Burna then tweeted, telling his fan to ignore the “delusional fanbases” after they tried to defend him.
“Bro. Don’t get worked up. It’s Nigerian Twitter with 2 delusional fanbases, trust me You are not talking to actual people if their handles look like that.” Burna Boy tweeted.
Another Twitter user than responded to the discussion, as he says Burna Boy will soon leave Twitter for Nigerians.
Burna then responded; “Me wey no even be Nigerian artist.”
A follower told Burna that he’s denying his motherland and Burna responded: “I’m from here and I live here because I love my home and my people, E no pass like that. I don’t make money from Nigeria. Na only cruise dey here.”
