Tragedy struck at Ifesowapo community, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State, when a mother and her four kids where all burnt to death in a candlelight fire which started in their house on Wednesday night.
Reports say the incident happened when a candle lighting one of the rooms sparked fire, with the the husband and father of the deceased said to be out of the house to get some things when the inferno started.
The incident was confirmed by chairman of the Ifesowapo community, Mr Awodun Yinka who said that members of the community heard the cries but were unable to rescue the children and their mother.
Mr Awodun Yinka added that unfortunately, only one out of the five children was rescued from the fire and has been taking to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin.
