Odion Ighalo reacts after he was named as National Principal’s Cup ambassador

Retired Super Eagles striker Odion Jude Ighalo has reacted to his recent appointment as an ambassador for the National Principal’s Cup football competition.

The former Manchester United striker was named alongside others by Nigeria’s sports minister Sunday Dare who tagged the competition as a ‘factory’ for producing budding talents for the country.

The former Watford FC striker who reacted to the development on his official Instagram page expressed his delight with the ‘recognition’.

He wrote; “Special thanks and appreciation to the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports for this recognition and honour for seeing me worthy to be the Face (ambassador) of the National Principal’s Cup.

“And for the acknowledgement of my contributions to help and mentor our Youth. I am indeed honoured and look forward to very fruitful working relationships,” Ighalo added.

Other ambassadors named by the ministry of sports include; Joseph Dosu, Daniel Amokachi, Tajudeen Disu and Mary Onyali.
