Powerful punching Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has defeated his British opponent Anthony Joshua in a dramatic rematch thus confirming his spot at the top of the heavyweight division.

Usyk used his classy skills to win a split decision after an enthralling rematch with Anthony Joshua on Saturday night, August 20, at the King Abdullah Sports City Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Ukrainian, over 12 rounds, outpointed Joshua winning on a split decision, taking it 116-112 and 115-113 on two cards. The third judge scored 115-113 for Joshua.

Speaking through a translator after the fight, Usyk said; “This is already history,” “Many generations are going to watch this fight, especially the [10th] round, when someone tried to beat me hard, but I standed it and turned it in a different way. Thanks, God.”

Usyk also spoke about his ambition to fight Tyson Fury; “I want to fight him and if I am not fighting Tyson Fury, I am not fighting at all. Only God knows whether I will fight him or not, but all these gentlemen here around me, my team, they are going to help me.”
