The CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, Sean Puffy Combs aka P. Diddy has congratulated self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy on his recent Grammy Award.
In a congratulatory message on Instagram, Diddy, who was one of the executive producers of the Album, wrote: “YOU DID IT KING!!!!!!!!! @BURNABOYGRAM #TWICEASTALL.
Burna Boy’s latest album ‘Twice as Tall’ clinched the ‘Best Global Music Album ‘ category over other albums by Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).
This came after the federal government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari sent a congratulatory message to Burna Boy for winning a Grammy award on Sunday 14, 2021.
The message was contained in a statement issued on Monday by Segun Adeyemi, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
It said that the award won by Burna Boy represents a global endorsement for the Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria’s increasing dominance of the music world.
