Popular American rapper Sean Carter better known in music circles as Jay Z has been awarded the sum of $4.5 million in a lawsuit with a perfume company identified as Parlux over Gold Jay Z cologne.
The 52-year-old rapper was initially sued by the company in 2016 and in the suit, the Company said Jay Z didn’t live up to terms of a contract signed in the year 2012.
However, a jury said neither side owed the other any money last fall but in a latest development an appellate court Thursday ruled the rapper was entitled to $4.5 million in royalties.

‘The record is clear: Parlux sold licensed products after July 31, 2015, but failed to pay royalties on those sales,’ Higgitt said.
