The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday confirmed the murder of its commandant by runaway bandits during an attack on Kuje-Gwagwalada Road.
The incident was confirmed in a statement by the NSCDC spokesperson, Olusola Odumosu who said that the commandant was killed during a gun battle with bandits along the road on Sunday, June 6.
Odumosu, who issued the statement this during a special parade and simulation exercise and unveiling of the newly established female squad of the Corps said that the deceased was rushed to the hospital afterwards but died on Monday, June 7.
Durng the unveiling of the newly established female corps at its Parade Ground at the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja, a minute silence was held to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
