Popular Spanish lawn tennis star and 14-time Roland Garros champion, Rafael Nadal has revealed his intention to become the president of Spanish soccer side, Real Madrid.

Nadal declared his intention to become the president of the 14-time UEFA Champions League (UCL) winners following conversations surrounding who will succeed the incumbent Florentino Perez.

While conversations continue, Rafael Nadal has admitted he would like to become the president of Real Madrid after he retires from professional sports.

“Would I like to be [president]? I think so,” Nadal told Movistar in an interview on Monday. “I think I’d like to. But there are a lot of things. Right now, there’s nothing to say because we have the best possible president [Florentino Perez].”

“What I think today, I might not think about tomorrow. There are lots of twists and turns in life. You have to know if you’re qualified to do this kind of thing. I’m quite realistic. I know my limitations. I don’t know if I’d be capable or not. Time will tell,” Nadal added.

The 37-year-old tennis legend was humble, saying he doesn’t fit such a position yet.

“I haven’t asked [Perez] about it. I think the media get carried away. I don’t think I fulfill the requirements to be [president],” Nadal said.
