UFC star Conor McGregor suffers gruesome ankle injury during fight with Dustin Poirier

UFC star Conor McGregor suffered a gruesome injury during his fight with his opponent Dustin Poirier on Saturday night (July 10) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two mixed martial artists took to the octagon during the UFC 264 main event that had a nasty outcome towards the end of the first round, when Dustin hit Conor with a combination.

When Conor went to plant his left foot, his leg buckled, sending him to the mat in severe pain.

While Conor was down, Dustin followed up with several punches as the time ran out.

With Conor clearly in pain, the referee called the match. The official result was Dustin winning by TKO (doctor’s stoppage) at five minutes of the first round.

Conor was not happy with the way the match ended.

Conor yelled “This is not over!” as he was then taken out of the arena by stretcher and brought to the hospital.

This was the third time Conor and Dustin faced off in the ring.
