‘Nigerian Nightmare’ Kamaru Usman emerged the winner of his latest fight after defeating his opponent Colby Covington in the early hours of Sunday to defend his welterweight title at UFC268.

Both rivals squared up during the rematch which had a tentative beginning with little action taking place in the first round but Usman ended the contest before the end of the round in their first clash.

Usman was measured in his striking and was landing the harder shots as he dropped Covington twice at the end of the second stanza.

Covington looked deflated on his stool but had a much better third round, upping his striking output and beginning to land on the champion.

The challenger’s success continued on into the fourth round as the fight started to heat up with Covington landing a big uppercut at the bell.

Covington likely needed a finish heading into the final round, but Usman controlled the pace and did enough to earn the unanimous decision nod.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White says ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ Kamaru Usman is the best ever welterweight of all time, after his victory against rival Colby Covington.

Following his win against Covington, White stated that not only Usman is the best ever in his weight category, he is also on his way to become the greatest of all time.

“Usman is the best ever welterweight of all time. He is on his way to possibly greatest of all time status and Colby Covington was one tough dude, he is so tough,” White said.
