The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his newly married fiancée, Carrie Symonds, will celebrate their wedding with family, friends next summer according to reports.

This was made known last week by the office of the Prime Minister last week when Boris Johnson tied the nuptial knots with Symonds at a small ceremony at Westminster Cathedral.

The wedding ceremony was not announced in advance, and media reports said guests were invited at the last minute to the Roman Catholic cathedral in central London, adding that even senior members of Johnson’s office were unaware of the wedding plans.

“The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds were married yesterday afternoon in a small ceremony at Westminster Cathedral,” Johnson’s office said Sunday. “The couple will celebrate their wedding with family and friends next summer,” the statement issued by the office of the Prime Minister read.

The couple have both reportedly sent save-the-date cards to family and friends for a celebration on July 30, 2022. Under current coronavirus restrictions in England, no more than 30 people can attend a wedding.

Boris Johnson, 56, and Symonds, a 33-year-old Conservative Party insider and environmental advocate, announced their engagement in February 2020. Their son, Wilfred, was born in April last year.
