Ukranian actress Milla Jovovich “heartbroken and dumbstruck” over Russian invasion

Popular Ukrainian actress Milla Jovovich has declared that she is “heartbroken and dumbstruck” over the aggressive invasion of her country by Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

The Kyiv-born actress and supermodel who opened up on her country’s invasion in a post on her Instagram page said that she is torn in two” by the escalating conflict and struggled to process the events as Russian forces closed in on her birth city.

The thespian who is known for her roles in films such as The Fifth Element and Resident Evil, said that the invasion ordered by Putin has forced her people to flee major cities and even escape the country altogether.

“I am heartbroken and dumbstruck trying to process the events of this week in my birthplace of Ukraine,’’ Milla wrote on Instagram. 

“My country and people being bombed. Friends and family in hiding. My blood and my roots come from both Russia and Ukraine.

“I am torn in two as I watch the horror unfolding, the country being destroyed, families being displaced, their whole life lying in charred fragments around them,” she added.
